Most glass coatings ask for a separate session: prep the glass, apply, wait for a haze, buff, buff again. That's why so many bottles of rain repellent sit half-used in the garage. Glaco QAD is a hydrophobic glass coating you apply as part of a normal hand wash — roll it onto the windscreen, give it a minute or three, then wash it off with the rest of the car. No buffing, no streaky haze to chase.

Why it works

  • Quick Adhesion & Quick Dry (Q-AD) formula bonds in 1–3 minutes, then the residue is simply washed away
  • Rain starts beading and clearing from around 45km/h (roughly 28mph) — useful in town, not just on the motorway
  • Up to 10 weeks of water repellency per application
  • Built-in felt applicator — squeeze the bottle to feed it, nothing extra to buy
  • 120ml covers up to 10 windscreens

When to use it

Every time the car gets a proper hand wash and the windscreen has stopped beading. It suits drivers who wash every couple of weeks and want rain repellency topped up without adding a separate job — windscreen, side glass and rear screen, all done before the shampoo goes on.

Straight from us

QAD is the Glaco for people who never got round to using the other ones. It doesn't last as long as Glaco DX, but because it costs you about two minutes of an existing wash, it actually gets reapplied — and a coating that's on the glass beats a longer-lasting one that's still in the bottle.

What it won't do

It won't cut through a windscreen that's already smeary with old oil film or wiper residue — the glass needs to be clean for the coating to bond, so use Glaco Glass Compound first if the screen is badly contaminated. And if you want months between applications rather than weeks, Glaco DX or Glaco Ultra are the better pick.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to buff Glaco QAD off?
No. Let it dry for 1–3 minutes, then wash the car including the coated glass with a pH-neutral shampoo, rinse and dry. The wash removes the residue.

How long does Glaco QAD last?
Up to 10 weeks per application. Because it fits into a normal wash, most people simply top it up every few washes.

What's the difference between Glaco QAD and Glaco DX?
QAD is applied during the wash and washed off — the quickest Glaco to use, lasting up to 10 weeks. DX is a traditional apply-and-buff coating that lasts around four months.

Does the glass have to be dry before I apply it?
Yes. Apply to dry glass that's free of grit, mud and bird droppings, before you start washing the rest of the car.
