How the hour goes
- Arrive80a Charles Street, Portadown. Pull up to the front and come in.
- Reg checkWe match the car to your booking, walk round it and photograph the dash.
- Pre-scanFull diagnostic scan. Any stored fault and we stop, hold your deposit and rebook once it's fixed.
- Original file savedYour standard ECU file is read and kept under your reg. It can go back on at any time.
- Remap writtenThe file for your service and add-ons goes on the car.
- Post-scan and handoverCodes cleared, road test where needed, balance paid at the till.
Before you come in
- No warning lights and no stored fault codes. If anything is on, message us before your slot.
- At least a quarter tank of fuel and a healthy battery.
- Tell us about any mods in the booking form — intake, exhaust, decat, hybrid turbo, previous map.
- Allow an hour. You're welcome to wait in the shop.
Straight from us
- A remap goes on a healthy engine. It will not cure a fault the car already has.
- Gains on non-turbo petrols are modest. Turbo petrol and turbo diesel are where Stage 1 earns its money.
- A remap is a modification: tell your insurer, and expect it to affect a manufacturer's warranty.
- Any drivability concern in the first 30 days, bring it back for a free check.
Questions
How much is a Stage 1 remap?
£229. You pay £50 when you book and £179 in store on the day. Add-ons are priced in the table above.
How long does it take?
About an hour, including the pre-scan, the file backup and the post-scan.
Can it be reversed?
Yes. Your original file is saved when we read the ECU and can be written back at any time.
Does the car need a service first?
Not if it's in date. If it's overdue, get it serviced first — a remap on tired oil and a clogged filter is a bad idea.
What if I can't make my slot?
Use the reschedule link in your confirmation email up to 24 hours before, or WhatsApp us. Deposits are refunded on cancellations made 48 hours or more before the slot; inside that, or on a no-show, the deposit is kept.
Do you remove the DPF physically?
No. We supply the software solution for off-road and competition vehicles; the filter internals are removed separately by a mechanic.
Can I book in store or by phone?
Yes. Same £50 deposit at the counter and we put you in the diary there and then.
