Puffy Towel 840 GSM Buffing Towel

Buffing off a wax with a thin cloth is where a lot of fine swirls come from — there is no pile to trap the residue, so it gets pushed around the panel instead of lifted. The Puffy Towel is 840 GSM of deep, chunky microfibre at 41 x 41cm. The residue disappears into the pile, the towel stays soft against the paint, and one flip gives you a clean face for the final wipe.

Why it works

• 840 GSM — roughly twice the weight of a standard all-purpose cloth
• Long chunky pile traps wax and dressing residue instead of smearing it
• Soft enough for the final buff on soft or dark paint
• 41 x 41cm — big enough for a bonnet, small enough to fold into quarters and work through
• Also a very good interior wipe-down towel for dashboards and door cards

When to use it

Removing wax, spray sealant, quick detailer or trim dressing. Fold it into quarters, use one face per panel, flip as it loads up. Keep one for paint and a second for dressings so silicone never ends up on the bonnet.

Specification

Straight from us

This is the towel we use to take off Synthetic Spray Wax. Light pressure, let the pile do it. If you are pressing hard you have too much product on the panel.

What it won't do

It is not a drying towel — at 41cm it will be soaked before you are past the roof. For drying the car, the Puffy Drying Towel XL is the same pile at 60 x 90cm.

Frequently asked questions

What is 840 GSM?
Grams per square metre — the weight and density of the microfibre. 840 is plush territory; an everyday cloth is around 300–350.

Can I use the Puffy Towel on glass?
You can, but a thin low-pile towel like the ADBL G leaves glass cleaner. Keep the Puffy for paint and trim.

How do I wash it?
Machine wash with a microfibre detergent, no fabric softener, low tumble or air dry. Wash it separately from cotton so it does not pick up lint.
