The Tire Brush is the fix: a stiff triangular bristle head that gets into the sidewall lettering and the edge of the tread, on a rubber-coated handle that does not spin in a wet hand. Scrub with a tyre cleaner until the foam runs white, and the next dressing actually bonds.

When to use it

Brown foam means keep going. When it finally runs white the rubber is clean, and a dressing like Tire Coat will last weeks instead of days.

What it won't do

Keep it off the wheel. These bristles are stiff enough to mark a painted or diamond-cut alloy — use the soft Fat Brush or Dagger for the wheel itself.

Why should I scrub tyres before dressing them?
Because old dressing and road film stop the new coat bonding. A clean tyre holds dressing for weeks; a dirty one sheds it in days.

Will the Tire Brush damage the tyre?
No. Tyre rubber is far tougher than the bristles. It is the alloy next to it you need to keep the brush away from.

Does it work on tyre browning?
Yes, with a dedicated tyre cleaner. Browning is old antiozonant and dressing residue; the brush and cleaner together lift it.
