Fits the VW Golf Mk7, 2012 onwards — standard, GTI and R sills. Not the Golf Mk8 — different sills.
The sill on the VW Golf Mk7 reads tall between the arches, and it is the one line on the car that a lip and a spoiler do not fix. This side skirt extensions fill that gap and pull the car visually closer to the road: matte black out of the box, taped along the sill, and nothing is cut.
About the side skirt extensions
A pair of side skirt extensions in Blade Autostyling's Aero V1 design that run along the bottom edge of each sill between the wheel arches, extending the sill downwards and outwards. It is vacuum-formed plastic, which keeps the part light and lets it flex over a knock rather than crack.
It arrives in matte black with the protective film still on, ready to go on the car. Once fitted the car sits visually lower along its whole length and the wheel arches look fuller.

Fitting it
Clean the sill with panel wipe — not polish, not a quick detailer. Dry fit each skirt and check it sits flush along the whole length before the backing paper comes off. Work above 15°C so the tape grabs, press from the centre outwards, and add the end screws last. Leave it 24 hours before a jet wash.
Delivery, fitting and returns
Delivery is £20 to any UK or Ireland address, on every body kit part. Or have it fitted at Blade Performance in Portadown for an extra £20 — supplied and fitted the same day, and we warrant the fit. Check the skirts against the car before the protective film comes off, and let us know about any transit damage within 48 hours of delivery.
What it won't do
They will not fit a sill that has been repaired out of shape — dry fit before the backing paper comes off.
Both sides need to be the same trim level; a car with one replacement sill may sit differently side to side.
It is not injection-moulded ABS. Vacuum-formed plastic is lighter and more forgiving on impact, but it is thinner, and it is not a structural part.
Frequently asked questions
Does the VW Golf Mk7 side skirt extensions need painting?
No. It is supplied in matte black and goes straight on the car.
Do side skirt extensions need drilling?
Mostly no. Tape carries the length of the skirt; a screw at each end stops the tips lifting at motorway speed.
Can I jet wash them?
Yes, once the tape has had 24 hours to cure. Keep the lance a foot away from the edges.
Can I collect it or have it fitted?
Yes. Collect from the shop in Portadown, or book it in and we fit it while you wait.
