Carnauba Wax Shampoo

Shampo Wax is the valeter's version of a wash-and-wax: a concentrated car shampoo from Tenzi's trade range with natural carnauba wax in it, so every wash cleans, polishes and leaves a little protection behind. It is built without aggressive chemicals or solvents, smells of bubble gum, and at 100ml per 5L bucket a litre goes a long way.

When to use it

Weekly maintenance hand washes with a bucket and mitt, on customer cars where a quick gloss and a bit of beading matter, and on bikes and quads after the mud has been rinsed off. Pre-rinse first so the mitt is not dragging grit.

This is the one we would hand a mobile valeter: cheap per wash, smells good, and leaves the car beading, the plain Neutro Shampoo is the safer choice so nothing sits on top of your protection. Rinse with demineralised water if you have it — Tenzi recommend it and it does cut water spots.

What it won't do

It is not a replacement for a wax or sealant — the carnauba it leaves is light and short-lived, and Tenzi publish no durability figure. It is not for use through a foam lance or an automatic wash; it is a bucket shampoo.

How much Shampo Wax do I use?
Tenzi publish 100ml per 5L of water. A 1L bottle is roughly ten buckets at that rate.

Is it pH neutral?
Tenzi do not publish a pH for Shampo Wax. They describe it as free of aggressive chemicals and solvents; for a confirmed neutral shampoo, Tenzi Neutro Shampoo is the one with a published neutral working solution.

Can I use it on a coated car?
You can, but the carnauba will sit on the coating and can dull its water behaviour. On ceramic-coated cars use a pure shampoo instead.

What is the difference between Shampo Wax and Car Shampoo & Wax 770ml?
Both are Tenzi wash-and-wax shampoos. Shampo Wax (1L) is the trade concentrate with natural carnauba and a bubble gum scent at 100ml per 5L. Car Shampoo & Wax (770ml) is the Detailer-range version with hydro-wax at 50 to 100ml per 10L.
