TENZI ProDetailing Motorplast is a ready-to-use engine bay dressing that coats metal, plastic and rubber in a hydrophobic, antistatic film, resists heat to 250C and dries without leaving a tacky surface.

A clean engine bay looks tidy. A dressed one looks like it left the factory last week. Motorplast coats metal, plastic and rubber in one pass with a hydrophobic film that deepens colour contrast, repels dust and water, and — because it is antistatic — slows down how fast the grime comes back. It handles the heat of a running engine, and it dries without that sticky finish that catches every bit of dust in the county.

Why it works

  • Dresses metal, plastic and rubber engine bay components in one pass
  • Hydrophobic film repels dust and water
  • Antistatic effect slows the rate dirt re-settles
  • Heat resistant to 250C
  • Deepens colour contrast for a factory-fresh look
  • Dries non-tacky — no wiping off required
  • pH 5, ready to use, works from +5C

When to use it

After the bay has been washed and degreased, never before. This is the finishing step.

How it compares to the rest of the TENZI range

Motorplast does no cleaning whatsoever. APC OUT is the degreaser that gets the bay clean first. Get that order wrong and Motorplast seals the dirt in — TENZI warn that applying it to a dirty surface creates a sticky layer.

Straight from us

Two details make the difference between a professional finish and a blotchy one. Hold the sprayer back from the surface rather than close in, or you get stains. And if you have just washed the bay, blow it dry with compressed air first — TENZI recommend it, and it stops the product diluting into standing water.

What it won't do

It is not a cleaner or a degreaser. It will not fix perished rubber or corroded metal, and TENZI publish no durability period for the film it leaves.

Frequently asked questions

What is Motorplast used for?

Dressing and protecting engine bay components — metal, plastic and rubber — after the bay has been cleaned. It leaves a hydrophobic, antistatic, heat-resistant film.

What temperature can Motorplast withstand?

TENZI's technical card states 250C. Their product page quotes 260C — we have used the more conservative technical-card figure.

Does Motorplast need diluting?

No. TENZI's technical card states it is ready to use without diluting.

Can I apply it to a dirty engine bay?

No. TENZI warn that using it on a dirty surface creates a sticky layer. Clean and dry the bay first.

Does it need wiping off?

No. Spray it on evenly and leave it to dry for a few hours.
