SiO2 protection applied without touching the car. SWAG's Ceramic Hydro Coat is an ultra-concentrated ceramic wet coat you spray over the soaking wet vehicle at the end of the wash — it sheets the water off so the car largely dries itself, and it lays down a ceramic film that beads, deepens the colour and adds a glass-like gloss. At 1.5ml per litre, 500ml goes an extraordinarily long way.

Why it works

  • SiO2 ceramic chemistry rather than synthetic wax
  • Touchless application — sprayed onto a wet car, no contact with the paint
  • Instant water beading and sheeting
  • Deepens paint colour and adds a glass-like gloss
  • Works across paint, metal, plastic and glass
  • Ultra-concentrated: 1.5ml per litre for drying (1:650)

When to use it

At the end of every wash if you want the ceramic layer maintained, or periodically at the stronger ratio when you want to rebuild protection. Ideal on a car that already has a coating and needs topping up.

Straight from us

The dilution is the whole story on this one. £33.49 sounds steep next to a £15 ready-to-use wet coat until you notice this is 1.5ml per litre — one bottle is hundreds of litres of drying solution, and it works out cheaper per wash than almost anything else on the shelf. Buy it because of the maths, not in spite of the price.

What it won't do

It is not a substitute for a professional ceramic coating and SWAG publish no durability figure, so we are not quoting one. It will not clean the car, and it must not be allowed to dry on the surface.

Frequently asked questions

What ratio should I use?
SWAG publish 1:650 — 1.5ml per litre — for drying at the end of the wash. Their instructions give a working range of 1.5ml to 10ml per litre depending on how strong you want it.

Note on the stronger ratio
SWAG's spec block also lists 1:66 (15ml per litre) for a protective layer, which sits outside the 1.5–10ml range given in their own instructions. We have reproduced both as published rather than picking one — if in doubt, stay within 1.5 to 10ml per litre.

How is it different from Hydro Coat?
Hydro Coat is synthetic wax at 1:100. This is SiO2 at 1:650 — harder film, longer lasting, and it goes over six times further per bottle.
