Seat Leon Mk2 Facelift Front Lip

Fits the Seat Leon Mk2 Facelift, 2009 onwards — Cupra / FR bumper. Not the pre-facelift Leon Mk2 (2005–2009) — different bumper.

The Cupra / FR bumper on the Seat Leon Mk2 Facelift stops short at the bottom and the front of the car looks like it is sitting on tiptoes. This front splitter closes that gap and drops the visual line by a few centimetres: supplied raw for painting to match the car, screwed into the underside of the bumper, and nothing is cut.

About the front splitter

A one-piece lower splitter in Blade Autostyling's Cupra V1 design that runs the full width of the front bumper, sitting under the standard valance and following its line into the corners. It is vacuum-formed plastic, which keeps the part light and lets it flex over a knock rather than crack.

It arrives raw and unpainted — prime it and paint it to match the car, or have it done in gloss black, before it goes on. Once fitted the front of the car reads lower and wider, and the gap between bumper and road is gone.

Fitting it

Paint it first: key the surface, prime, and paint to match or in gloss black, then let it cure fully. Clean the underside of the bumper with panel wipe. Offer the splitter up with the car on ramps or axle stands and check the gap at both ends before anything is drilled — a bumper that has been off the car before rarely sits square. Centre it with masking tape, pilot-drill through the splitter into the plastic underside of the bumper, and run the screws in from the centre outwards. Leave the protective film on until the last screw is in.

Delivery, fitting and returns

Delivery is £20 to any UK or Ireland address, on every body kit part. Or have it fitted at Blade Performance in Portadown for an extra £20 — supplied and fitted the same day, and we warrant the fit. Check the splitter against the car before the protective film comes off, and let us know about any transit damage within 48 hours of delivery.

What it won't do

It will not hide a damaged bumper. The splitter sits below the bumper; a scuff above it still shows.

It does not generate downforce. At this price nothing does, and we are not going to pretend otherwise — this is a styling part.

It is not injection-moulded ABS. Vacuum-formed plastic is lighter and more forgiving on impact, but it is thinner, and it is not a structural part.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Seat Leon Mk2 Facelift front splitter need painting?
Yes. It is supplied raw and unpainted so it can be colour-matched to the car. Most people have it painted gloss black or body colour before fitting — we can arrange that in Portadown.

Do you have to drill the bumper to fit a front splitter?
Yes, into the plastic underside only — never into bodywork or paint. The screws are hidden behind the splitter once it is on, and screws are the only fixing that survives a wet motorway.

Will it survive speed bumps?
On a standard-height Seat Leon Mk2 Facelift, yes. On coilovers at fully dropped it will make contact — approach at an angle.

Can I collect it or have it fitted?
Yes. Collect from the shop in Portadown, or book it in and we fit it while you wait.
