Pick your service below, choose a time that suits and tell us about the car. Every remap starts with a full diagnostic scan and a backup of your original ECU file before a single value is changed, and finishes with a post-scan and a road test where the car needs one.

What you can book

Stage 1 Remap

A Stage 1 remap rewrites the fuelling, boost and torque tables in your car's ECU to take out the compromises the manufacturer built in for cold climates, poor fuel and missed services. On a turbocharged petrol or diesel that usually means a noticeable step in mid-range torque, sharper throttle response and smoother power delivery, on a car that is otherwise completely standard. No hardware is needed and the service schedule does not change.

Economy Remap

An Economy remap re-profiles the torque curve for part-throttle driving so the engine does the same work at lower revs and with less pedal. It suits vans, commuters and anyone who covers big mileage and would rather have the gain at the fuel pump than at the top end.

Add-ons

• Pops & Bangs — a burble and crackle on the overrun when you lift off. Petrol turbo cars only; it needs an exhaust that can take it.
• Hard Cut Limiter — replaces the soft fuel-cut limiter with a hard cut for a sharper, cleaner rev limit.
• Smoke — a richer fuelling strategy on full throttle for diesels. Track and show use; it will mark a clean bumper.

How the hour goes

1. Arrive at 80a Charles Street, Portadown. Pull up to the front and come in.
2. Reg check against your booking, walk-round and dash photo.
3. Full diagnostic pre-scan. Any stored or active fault and we stop there — the deposit is held and you rebook once it is fixed.
4. Original ECU file read and saved under your reg. It is kept, and can be put back at any point.
5. Remap written to the car.
6. Post-scan, road test where appropriate, and handover. Balance paid at the till.

Before you come in

• No warning lights and no stored fault codes. If anything is on, message us before your slot.
• At least a quarter tank of fuel and a healthy battery.
• Allow an hour. You are welcome to wait in the shop.

Straight from us

If your car has a hybrid turbo, an intake, a decat or a previous map on it, put it in the modifications box. It does not stop the booking, it just changes what we write, and we would rather know before the laptop is plugged in than after.

What it won't do

• It will not fix a car that already has a fault. A remap is the last thing that goes on a healthy engine, not a cure for one that is not.
• Stage 1 will not turn a naturally aspirated engine into something it is not — gains on non-turbo petrols are modest.
• It will not hide from your insurer. A remap is a modification and you must declare it.

How much does a Stage 1 remap cost?

£229 at Blade Performance, with £50 paid as a deposit when you book and £179 on the day. Add-ons are priced in the table above.

How long does a remap take?

About an hour, including the pre-scan, the file backup and the post-scan.

Can it be reversed?

Yes. Your original file is saved when we read the ECU and can be written back at any time.

Will a remap affect my warranty or insurance?

It can affect a manufacturer's warranty and you must tell your insurer. Both are your responsibility as the owner.

Does the car need a service first?

Not if it is in date. If it is overdue, get it serviced first — a remap on tired oil and a clogged filter is a bad idea.

What if I cannot make my slot?

Use the reschedule link in your confirmation email up to 24 hours before, or WhatsApp us. Deposits are refunded on cancellations made 48 hours or more before the slot.
