Most of the swirl marks on a daily driver go in during the contact wash, when a mitt drags road grit across the paint. A proper pre-wash removes that grit before anything touches the car. PreFoam Efficient is Koch Chemie's concentrated alkaline pre-cleaner: it foams onto the panel, dissolves insects, bird droppings and traffic film, and rinses the loose dirt away in under a minute.

When to use it
Before every contact wash on a dirty car, and especially after motorway runs in summer when the front end is covered in insects. Apply bottom to top over the whole vehicle, keep it to a minute at most, and rinse thoroughly with a pressure washer before you go near it with a mitt.

At these dilutions this is one of the cheapest per-wash pre-cleaners we stock — a 5L drum mixed 1:30 is over 150 litres of ready-to-use product. It hits harder than a neutral snow foam, which is exactly what you want on a genuinely dirty car.
What it won't do
It isn't a wax-safe maintenance foam — an alkaline pre-cleaner at strong dilution will shorten the life of soft waxes and sealants, so on a freshly protected car reach for our GSF Gentle Snow Foam instead.
