FB Felgenblitz Viscous Rim Cleaner

Brake dust doesn't sit on a wheel, it bakes on. A few hundred miles of hard braking and the iron particles have bonded to the lacquer, and a normal shampoo wash slides straight over them. Felgenblitz is Koch Chemie's acid-free rim cleaner for exactly that job: a viscous gel that clings to the wheel, turns red as it dissolves the iron, and rinses off without attacking the finish.
Why it works
- Acid-free, pH-neutral chemistry cleans burnt-in brake dust without etching alloy, steel or chrome
- Viscous gel clings to vertical spokes and barrels instead of running straight off
- Colour indicator turns red as it reacts with iron contamination, so you can see where it's working
- Koch Chemie specify around 3 minutes of dwell before you touch a brush
- Water-repelling and gloss-enhancing additives leave the rim easier to clean next time
- 5L and 10L trade packs refill a trigger bottle for a fraction of the per-litre price
When to use it
On wheels that haven't been deep-cleaned in months — winter brake dust, motorway film, rust traces around the wheel nuts. Decant into a trigger sprayer, work one wheel at a time on a cool rim, and agitate the barrels with a brush before rinsing at high pressure.

Straight from us
This is the wheel cleaner we'd point a working detailer at. The gel consistency is the difference on a filthy wheel — it's still sitting on the spoke doing its job while a watery cleaner is already on the floor. If you only need a bottle now and again, our 500ml acid-free wheel cleaner is the handier buy.
What it won't do
It won't remove iron from paintwork — it's formulated for rims, not panels. And on sensitive finishes such as polished aluminium, Koch Chemie advise testing an inconspicuous area first and rinsing all residue out of the wheel-nut recesses.
Frequently asked questions
Is Felgenblitz acid-free?
Yes — Felgenblitz säurefrei is acid-free and pH neutral, which is why it's safe on alloy, steel and chrome rims used as directed.
Why does it turn red on the wheel?
The colour indicator reacts with iron from brake dust as it dissolves, so the red bleed shows the cleaner is working.
How long do I leave it on?
Koch Chemie specify around 3 minutes. Don't let it dry on the rim, and rinse thoroughly with a pressure washer.
Is it safe on ceramic-coated or polished wheels?
It's suitable for sealed alloy, steel and chrome. On polished or delicate aluminium, test a small hidden area first.
