Brake dust is not just dirt. The iron particles that come off the pads bed into the lacquer on an alloy while the wheel is still hot, and once they start to corrode there they leave marks that no amount of shampoo touches. Revolutions is an acid-free wheel and tyre cleaner that lifts that build-up on a regular wash, before it gets to the stage where the wheel needs refurbishing.

Why it works

  • Acid-free — no hydrofluoric or similar acid chemistry to worry about on lacquered, painted or polished alloys
  • Breaks down brake dust and baked-on road grime that a shampoo bucket leaves behind
  • One product for the whole corner — wheel face, barrel and the tyre sidewall
  • Strips old dressing off tyres, which is what stops fresh dressing going on patchy
  • Spray, dwell, agitate, rinse — no special equipment needed beyond a wheel brush
  • Three sizes — 500ml, 1L and a 5L for a set of four every week

When to use it

First job of the wash, on cool wheels out of direct sun, before anything touches the paint — wheels are the dirtiest part of the car and you don't want that grit in your wash bucket. Also the right prep step before tyre dressing: dressing over old dressing is why sidewalls go streaky.

Straight from us

Do the wheels first and do them with their own brushes and their own bucket. The single biggest cause of swirls we see is someone washing wheels last with the mitt they have just used on the paint. Let Revolutions dwell a minute rather than scrubbing it straight away — the chemistry does the work, the brush only finishes it.

What it won't do

It isn't a dedicated fallout remover: Revolutions has no colour-change chemistry, so for heavily embedded iron in the lacquer you want an iron fallout remover. It also won't restore a wheel that has already corroded under the lacquer — that is a refurb job, not a cleaning one.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kellean Revolutions safe on alloy wheels?
Yes — Revolutions is acid-free and suitable for regular cleaning of standard alloy, painted and lacquered wheels. Test an inconspicuous spot first on delicate, polished or aftermarket finishes.

Can I use Revolutions on tyres?
Yes — it is made for wheels and tyres, and it strips old dressing off the sidewall so new dressing goes on evenly.

Do I need to agitate it?
Yes for anything beyond light dust. Let it dwell first, then work the face and barrel with a soft wheel brush before rinsing thoroughly.

Is Revolutions an iron fallout remover?
No — Revolutions is a cleaner, not a dedicated fallout remover, and it has no colour-change indicator. Use a fallout remover for embedded iron before polishing or sealing a wheel.
