Directions

1. Position the working vehicle close to the flat one so the leads reach, without the vehicles touching. Turn both ignitions off.

2. Connect the red lead to the positive (+) terminal of the flat battery, then to the positive (+) terminal of the good battery.

3. Connect the black lead to the negative (–) terminal of the good battery, then to a solid, unpainted metal earth point on the flat vehicle, away from the battery and fuel system.

4. Start the working vehicle and let it run for a few minutes, then start the flat vehicle.

5. With both engines running, disconnect the leads in reverse order, making sure the clamps never touch each other.

6. Drive the jump-started vehicle for at least 30 minutes to recharge the battery, and return the leads to their pouch.
