Tyre dressing goes brown and blotchy for one reason: it was put on over the last coat, plus a film of road grime, silicone and brake dust that a wash mitt never touches. The rubber has to be scrubbed clean before anything will bond to it. The Fresso Tyre Brush is a stiff-bristled tyre cleaning brush with a rubber grip, built to work cleaner into the sidewall and lift all of that residue off so the tyre goes back to plain black rubber.

Why it works

  • Stiff, resilient synthetic bristles agitate cleaner deep into the sidewall texture and lettering
  • Lifts old dressing, road grime and browning that a sponge slides over
  • Safe for tyres — firm enough for rubber, kept off the wheel face where it is not needed
  • Comfortable rubber grip stays put in a wet hand across four tyres
  • Ergonomic shape lets you follow the curve of the sidewall
  • Rinses clean in water and dries quickly

When to use it

Every wash, before dressing. Spray a tyre cleaner onto the sidewall, let it dwell as directed, scrub with the brush until the foam runs white rather than brown, then rinse. It is also the right brush for wheel arch liners, mud flaps and rubber sills.

Straight from us

Scrub until the foam runs white. The first pass on a neglected tyre comes off brown, and if you dress over that the finish lasts a week. Two or three passes with a proper tyre cleaner and this brush is what makes a dressing actually last.

What it won't do

These bristles are too stiff for alloys, painted or lacquered wheels — keep it on the rubber and use the soft Fresso Wheel Brush Pro for the wheel itself. It also will not remove browning on its own; it needs a tyre cleaner to break the residue down first.

Frequently asked questions

Will it damage my tyres?
No. The Fresso Tyre Brush is designed for tyre sidewalls; the synthetic bristles are stiff enough to scrub rubber but do not cut or scuff it when used with a cleaner and normal pressure.

Can I use it on my alloy wheels too?
Best not to. The bristles are chosen for rubber and can mark painted or lacquered wheel finishes. Use a soft wheel brush for the wheel face and barrel.

Do I need a tyre cleaner as well?
Yes. The brush provides the agitation; a dedicated tyre cleaner or an all purpose cleaner breaks down old dressing and road film so the brush can lift it away.

How do I clean the brush?
Rinse it in clean water after each use and leave it to dry bristles-down. Keep it for tyres only so nothing abrasive is carried onto paint or wheels.
