Swirl marks come from the wash, not the polish. A sponge holds grit against the paint and drags it along; a long-pile mitt pulls the grit up into the fibres where it cannot scratch. The Fresso Cody Wash Mitt is a microfibre car wash mitt with long, soft fibres, a big 19 x 28cm working face and an elastic cuff that keeps it on your hand when it is heavy with water.

When to use it
Every contact wash, with the two-bucket method: shampoo bucket, rinse bucket with a grit guard, and the mitt rinsed out after every panel. Use it on paint and glass; keep a separate, older mitt for sills, wheels and the lower bumpers.

Snow foam first, mitt second, and never let the mitt touch the ground. If you drop it, it is the wheel mitt from now on. Pair it with a proper pH-neutral car shampoo and a rinse bucket and most of the swirl problem goes away before you ever need a polisher.
What it won't do
It will not remove bonded contamination — tar, fallout and tree sap need chemicals and clay, not more scrubbing. Fresso do not publish a GSM or fibre blend, so we will not quote one.

Is a microfibre mitt better than a sponge?
Yes for paintwork. The long fibres of the Fresso Cody Wash Mitt lift grit up and away from the surface, where a flat sponge holds it against the paint and causes swirls.
How do I wash the mitt?
Rinse it thoroughly after use, then machine wash on a cool cycle with other microfibre, no fabric softener, and air dry. Softener clogs the fibres.
Can I use it on wheels?
You can, but keep a dedicated mitt for wheels and lower panels so brake dust never ends up in the mitt you use on the bonnet.
