Koch-Chemie Fine Cut Compound F6.01

Wash marring, car wash scratches and light swirls are the defects most paintwork actually has — and a heavy compound is overkill for them. Koch-Chemie F6.01 Fine Cut is the one-step answer: enough cut to remove wash system scratches and sanding marks up to 2500 grit, with enough finishing ability to leave a high gloss that many paints will not need refining afterwards.

Koch-Chemie rate it at cut 6.0 / gloss 7.0. The abrasive is their aluminium oxide grain with an intelligent grain size, which breaks down progressively as you work it — so it cuts early in the set and finishes late in the set, on rotary or dual action machines.

Key Benefits

  • Removes wash system scratches, light swirls and traces of everyday use
  • Handles sanding marks up to 2500 grit
  • Cut 6.0 / gloss 7.0 — genuine one-step potential on many paints
  • Aluminium oxide abrasive with intelligent grain size for a controlled, progressive cut
  • Works on rotary and dual action machines at up to 2,000 rpm
  • Pairs with the Koch-Chemie Fine Cut Foam Pad

How to Use

Apply a few pea-sized drops to a fine cut pad and polish the pre-cleaned surface in crosswise passes at up to 2,000 rpm. Start with more pressure at lower speed to cut, then reduce pressure and raise speed to bring up the high-gloss finish. Wipe off with a clean microfibre and inspect under proper light.

F.A.Q.

Where does F6.01 sit against Heavy Cut H9.01 and Micro Cut M3.02?
In the middle. Heavy Cut is for serious defects and sanding marks, F6.01 Fine Cut is the one-step for wash marring and light swirls, and Micro Cut is the finishing polish for maximum gloss on dark or soft paints.

Can I use it as a one-step?
On many paints, yes — at gloss 7.0 it finishes well enough that harder paints need nothing after it. Soft or very dark paints may still want a Micro Cut refining pass.

Does it work by hand or on a DA?
It is a machine polish first — rotary or dual action at up to 2,000 rpm. Hand application will improve light defects but will not match a machine's correction.

Which pad should I use?
Koch-Chemie's Fine Cut Pad is the intended partner; pair it with a finishing pad if you refine afterwards.
