Rubber Scrub Tyre Cleaning Brush

Tyre dressing that goes brown and flings up the arch in a week was almost always put onto a dirty tyre. Old dressing, road film and the rubber's own anti-ozone waxes sit in the sidewall and a wash mitt does nothing to them. The Rubber Scrub is a low-profile brush with stiff nylon bristles that dig into the sidewall texture and lettering, so the cleaner you spray on actually reaches the rubber and the dressing you apply afterwards has something clean to bond to.

Why it works

  • Stiff nylon bristles that scrub rather than wipe, and stand up to degreasers and tyre cleaners
  • Low-profile head fits between the tyre and a lip or arch liner without bashing the alloy
  • Ergonomic handle with a hanging tag, light enough to do four tyres without your wrist complaining
  • Lifts old silicone dressing that a water-based cleaner alone leaves behind
  • Rinses clean and dries quickly, so it does not carry grit from one car to the next

When to use it

Every wash, once the wheels are done and before the tyres are dressed. Spray the tyre cleaner, let it dwell, scrub until the foam turns brown, rinse until it runs white. Essential before any dressing you want to last more than a week, and on any car that has had cheap silicone slapped on at a hand car wash.

Straight from us

Keep scrubbing until the foam comes off white rather than brown — that is the only test that matters, and most people stop two passes too early. Pair it with Rim & Tyre Wheel Shampoo and the Tyre Gleam you put on afterwards will look the same on day seven as it did on day one.

What it won't do

It is a tyre brush, not a wheel brush. The bristles are too stiff for painted or diamond-cut alloys and will mark them — keep it off the rim and use a soft wheel brush for the barrel and spokes.

Frequently asked questions

Will it scratch my alloys?
It can if you let it. The bristles are stiff by design, so keep the head on the rubber and use a soft-bristle wheel brush for the wheel itself.

Do I need a separate tyre cleaner?
Yes. The brush does the agitation; a dedicated tyre cleaner or an all-purpose cleaner does the chemistry. On its own with water it will only shift loose dirt.

Why does my tyre dressing keep going brown?
Because it is going on over old dressing and road film. Scrub the sidewall clean first and the browning stops.

How do I look after it?
Rinse it out after use, shake it off and hang it by the tag. Do not leave it sitting in a bucket of degreaser.
