Air vents, speaker grilles and switch surrounds collect dust you can see but can't reach — a microfibre cloth just glides over the top of the slats. These E-TECH foam detail cleaning swabs are made for exactly that job: a shaped foam head on a 140mm stick, sized for the vents, seams and recesses the rest of your kit skips. You get ten in the pack.

Why it works

  • Shaped, angled foam head works into vent slats and trim gaps a cloth or brush glances over
  • 140mm stick reaches deep into vents and recesses while your hand stays clear of the trim
  • Soft foam doesn't shed fibres the way a cotton bud does, so nothing gets left behind in the vent
  • Works dry for dust, or with a light mist of interior cleaner for grime
  • Pack of 10 — keep separate swabs for dry dusting, cleaner and trim dressing
  • E-TECH also rate them for keyboards, PCs and remote controls, so the leftovers earn their keep indoors

When to use it

On every interior detail, after the vacuum and before any trim dressing goes on. Air vents, window switch surrounds, the gear selector gate, door handle cups and seat adjuster gaps are where a swab earns its place — and outside, badge edges and grille slats respond to the same treatment.

Straight from us

The cheapest tool on the shelf, and the one that separates an interior that looks clean from one that passes the vent check. We run one swab dry for dust, keep a second lightly dampened with interior cleaner for the sticky jobs, and spray the swab rather than the vent every time.

What it won't do

It won't shift heavy, bonded grime from textured plastics — that's a job for a detailing brush and an all purpose cleaner. And it's a precision tool, not a panel tool: for whole dashboards and door cards you still want a microfibre cloth.

Frequently asked questions

How do I clean car air vents without damaging them?
Run a dry E-TECH foam swab along each slat, front to back, then flip to a clean face for the next vent. The soft foam head lifts dust without scratching the slats or bending them the way a rag wrapped round a screwdriver does.

Can I use the swabs wet?
Yes — lightly mist the foam head with interior cleaner and work the recess. Spray the swab, not the vent, so no cleaner drips down inside the ducting.

Are the swabs reusable?
E-TECH don't publish a reuse claim. In practice a swab used dry for dust is good for several sessions; bin one once it's loaded with grime or dressing.

What's the difference between these and cotton buds?
Reach and material. The 140mm stick gets to the back of a vent where a cotton bud can't, and foam doesn't shed the fibres that cotton leaves caught on slat edges.
