Cherry is a strong scent, so go easy on a daily driver — two bursts into the footwells with the blower on recirculate is plenty. Save the full-can discharge for a car that has a smell to beat. It is the crowd-pleaser of the three: if you are buying one can for someone else, buy this one.

What it won't do

It will not cure a damp smell. Water in a footwell or a blocked scuttle drain comes straight back through any fragrance — find the leak and dry the car first. For heavily soiled fabric use Fabric Wash before you freshen anything.

How strong is the cherry?
Strong. It is the boldest of the three Designer Fragrance cans we stock, and it is meant to be noticed from the driver's seat.

Can I use it as an odour bomb?
Yes. Shake the can, set the climate control to recirculate with the blower running, stand the can in a footwell, depress the nozzle fully and close the car for around 15 minutes. Air it out before driving.

How long does the scent last?
It depends on how much you use and how the car is ventilated. A full discharge through the vents lasts considerably longer than a couple of bursts into the air.

What is the difference between this and Night Drift Blast?
Night Drift is the 500ml Xpert Detailing signature scent with listed sanitising properties; this is a 300ml can in a straightforward cherry fragrance.

Directions

1. Shake the can well.
2. For everyday freshening, hold the can upright and use one or two short bursts into the footwells with the car ventilated.
3. To treat odour through the whole car, close the windows, set the climate control to recirculate and run the blower.
4. Stand the can upright in a footwell, depress the nozzle fully and close the doors.
5. Leave the car closed for around 15 minutes.
6. Open the doors and air the car thoroughly before driving.
7. Keep the can away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not pierce or burn.
