Run your fingertips over the paint after a wash. That rough, gritty feel is bonded contamination — tar, sap, industrial fallout — and no shampoo is taking it off. The Clay Towel strips it in a fraction of the time a clay bar takes: a microfibre towel with an advanced polymer face that glides over lubricated paint and shears bonded dirt off as it goes.

Why it works

  • Polymer rubber face does the job of a clay bar many times faster
  • Removes tar spots, tree sap, resin, insect residue and bonded fallout
  • Covers a bonnet in the time a clay bar does a headlight
  • Rinse it clean mid-job — unlike clay, dropping it isn't a death sentence (rinse thoroughly and carry on)
  • Reusable across dozens of cars when cared for
  • 30 x 30cm — big enough for panels, easy to control

When to use it

Before polishing, sealing or ceramic coating — after washing and chemical decontamination (iron and tar removers), when the paint still feels rough to the touch.

Straight from us

Use plenty of lubricant — a strong shampoo solution or a dedicated clay lube — and keep the panel wet. A dry pass is how polymer towels mar paint, not a fault with the towel.

What it won't do

It won't remove scratches or swirls — decontamination isn't correction. Never use it with solvent-based products such as tar removers (they damage the polymer face), keep it away from temperatures above 40°C, and expect light marring on soft paint — plan to follow with a polish, as with any clay product.

Frequently asked questions

Is a clay towel better than a clay bar?
It's faster, reusable and rinseable. A bar is finished if you drop it; the towel rinses clean. For heavy contamination a bar can still bite harder — for regular decontamination the towel wins on every other count.

Do I need a lubricant?
Always. Work on wet, lubricated paint — shampoo solution or clay lube — and never pull it over a dry panel.

Will it scratch my paint?
Like all clay products it can leave light marring, especially on soft paint. Decontaminate before polishing, not after.

How long does it last?
Dozens of uses with care: rinse during and after use, let it air dry, and store it away from heat. Never let solvents near it.
