Clay Bar

1. Wash and rinse the car first, and chemically decontaminate with an iron and tar remover if you have them.
2. Knead the bar into a flat disc that sits comfortably under your fingers.
3. Soak the panel with clay lube or a slick shampoo solution - never work a dry panel.
4. Glide the bar over the wet panel in straight lines with light pressure until it moves freely.
5. Wipe the residue off with a clean microfibre, re-lubricate and move on to the next section.
6. Fold and re-knead the bar regularly to bring a clean face through.

If you drop it on the ground, throw it away - it will pick up grit and scratch the paint. Store it in a sealed tub, out of the cold. Follow with a polish, wax or sealant, as claying strips protection.
