1. Check your vehicle's recommended tyre pressures (door jamb sticker or handbook) before you start.
2. Unfold the pump on firm, level ground, remove the tyre's dust cap and lock the connector onto the Schrader valve.
3. Pump with steady, full foot strokes, keeping an eye on the pressure as the tyre inflates.
4. Check with an accurate gauge and bleed a little air if you overshoot the target pressure.
5. Release the connector, refit the dust cap and fold the pump flat for storage in the boot.
