Size: 8mm

The dirt that survives a wash lives in the places a cloth folds over: the outline of a badge, the gap around a headlight, wheel nut recesses, the seam where the dashboard meets the screen. A round detailing brush is the answer and the size matters. ADBL's comes in three heads — 8mm, 12mm and 16mm — with a blended bristle on a plastic ferrule, so there is no metal collar to mark the paint when you get close.

Why it works

  • 8mm for badge outlines, wheel nuts and the tightest seams; 12mm for vents and trim gaps; 16mm for grilles and larger recesses
  • Blended bristles hold cleaner and release grime without scratching
  • Plastic ferrule — no exposed metal near the paint
  • Long handle for control around lights and badges
  • Cheap enough to keep one for wheels, one for paint and one for the interior

When to use it

During the pre-wash while the foam dwells, on badges, grille edges, light surrounds and fuel-filler recesses. Inside, on vents, the gear surround and stitching. On wheels, in the nut recesses and around the valve.

Straight from us

If you buy one, buy the 12mm. If you buy the set, colour-code them with tape so the wheel brush never ends up on the dashboard.

What it won't do

These are precision brushes, not agitation brushes — a whole grille or a wheel face wants the Fat Brush. And the bristles will pick up grit from a filthy panel like any brush, so work on a foamed surface and rinse the brush often.

Frequently asked questions

Which size round detailing brush should I get?
12mm is the all-rounder. 8mm if you mostly do badges and wheel nuts; 16mm if you mostly do grilles and vents.

Is it safe on paint and badges?
Yes on a wet or foamed panel with light pressure. The plastic ferrule means there is no metal to mark the paint.

Can I use the same brush inside and out?
Better not. Wheel grime is abrasive; keep a dedicated brush for the interior.
