The panels that get swirled first are the curved ones — bumpers, arches, the swage line down the door — because a stiff mitt only touches them at the edges and the pressure ends up on a narrow strip. The Care Mitt is cut to flex. Soft, absorbent microfibre over a 27 x 20cm glove that follows the shape of the panel, with an anti-slip band inside so it stays on your hand when it is heavy with shampoo.

What it won't do

Care Mitt or Pro Mitt?
Care Mitt is the lighter, more flexible glove for a home wash. Pro Mitt is denser with a reinforced cuff for professional daily use.

Can I put it in the washing machine?
Yes, at up to 40°C with a microfibre detergent. Skip fabric softener — it clogs the fibres.

Will it scratch my paint?
Not if the car has been pre-washed and you use two buckets. A mitt full of grit will mar any paint, whatever it is made of.

Directions

1. Pre-wash and rinse the car so the mitt is not picking up heavy grit.
2. Soak the mitt in your shampoo bucket until fully loaded.
3. Wash one panel at a time, top down, in straight lines with light pressure.
4. Rinse in the second bucket after every panel.
5. After the wash, rinse clean and machine wash at up to 40°C with a microfibre detergent.
