Foam Pink pH Neutral Snow Foam

The point of a snow foam is to get the grit off the paint before anything touches it. Foam Pink is TENZI's ProDetailing pH-neutral snow foam: a concentrated, biodegradable, phosphate-free foam that clings, loosens road film and rinses away without touching the wax or ceramic coating underneath. It also smells of cherries, which is not why you buy it but does not hurt.

• pH 7, published by TENZI — safe on paint, wax, sealants and ceramic coatings
• Concentrated: 10 to 30ml per 10L of water, so a 700ml bottle mixes into a lot of foam
• Thick foam that dwells long enough to lift grit before the contact wash

When to use it

Every wash, as the first step after a rinse and before the mitt goes near the car. It earns its keep on a coated or waxed car where an alkaline TFR would slowly eat the protection. In winter it is the foam to keep road salt off the paint between proper washes.

A neutral foam is a safety step, not a miracle. It is there to protect your protection. If the car is genuinely filthy — farm roads, a fortnight of gritted motorway — foam it, rinse it, and if the film is still there use a stronger pre-wash on the lower half before the contact wash. On a coated car this is the foam we would use week in, week out. Compare it with Foam White if you would rather have it unscented.

What it won't do

It will not strip heavy traffic film or old wax — by design. A neutral foam is not a degreaser. If you want a foam that cuts through months of grime, you want an alkaline product like Car Max, accepting it will take protection with it.

Is Foam Pink safe on ceramic coatings?
Yes. TENZI publish Foam Pink as pH 7 and safe for paint and protective coatings, which is exactly what a maintenance wash on a coated car needs.

How much do I put in the foam lance?
TENZI publish 10 to 30ml per 10L of water. In a typical 1L lance bottle that is a small capful topped up with water; start at the lower end and increase if the foam is too thin.

What is the difference between Foam Pink and Foam White?
Both are TENZI ProDetailing neutral snow foams. Foam Pink is cherry-scented and pink; Foam White is the same idea without the fragrance and colour.

Do I still need to hand wash after foaming?
Yes. Snow foam removes the loose grit that would otherwise scratch; the contact wash removes the bonded film. TENZI's own instructions go foam, wash with a soft mitt, then rinse.
