Some jobs stain a cloth permanently the first time you use it — tar, oily engine-bay residue, exhaust soot, greasy door shuts. Black is the cloth you assign to those. The marks never show, so it stays in service for years instead of being binned because it looks past it.

How to use it

For tar, spray the remover on, let it dwell until the spots run, then lift them off with the cloth rather than rubbing — rubbing drags softened tar across the panel.

Care

Wash separately from your paint cloths; solvent and oil residue carries over in a shared wash. 40°C, microfibre detergent, no fabric softener.

Directions

1. Wash new cloths before first use to remove manufacturing residue and lift the pile.
2. Colour-code by job - keep one colour for paint, another for glass, another for wheels and interiors.
3. Use dry for buffing, or lightly damp for cleaning, and fold into quarters so you have eight clean faces to work through.
4. Turn to a fresh face as soon as one loads up with dirt.
5. Never reuse a cloth that has been dropped on the ground until it has been washed.

Machine wash at 30-40C with microfibre detergent. No fabric softener, no bleach, and do not wash with cotton items. Air dry or tumble dry on low.
