Surge Tropical Mango Car Air Freshener

A car that has sat in the rain all week starts to smell closed-in. Surge Tropical Mango opens it back up with ripe, sweet mango and a wider tropical-fruit edge. It's from Carfume's Classics range, their everyday scents rather than designer-inspired ones, and it comes in the 400ml Surge can: a car air freshener spray that covers the cabin in one short burst.

Why it works

• Sweet mango with a general tropical-fruit note, bright without being sharp
• A loud, sunny scent for a car that has started to feel stale
• One short burst covers the car, and Carfume say it lasts hours
• Hangs nowhere and clips nowhere, so the mirror and vents stay clear
• UK-made Carfume Classics scent

When to use it

Midwinter, after a week of wet dog walks or football boots drying in the footwell. Or in July, if you'd rather the car smelled of mango than of hot plastic.

Specification

Straight from us

Mango is the fruit scent we'd pick for a family car. It's sweet without being sickly, and it's an easy one to share a car with.

What it won't do

It won't dry out a damp car. If the windows mist up inside every morning, water is getting in somewhere or sitting in the carpet, and a fragrance won't change that.
