Surge Frozen Black Car Air Freshener

A lot of drivers want a car that smells cool and clean rather than sweet. Surge Frozen Black is Carfume's fresh option from its Classics range: icy citrus over light woods, crisp rather than perfumed, and a little masculine. It comes in the 400ml Surge can, a car air freshener spray that fills the cabin from one short press and, Carfume say, keeps going for hours.

Why it works

• Icy citrus first, then soft woods: fresh, not sugary
• Suits a car that's used for work every day
• One short burst does the whole cabin
• A big can. Top it up when the scent fades
• UK-made by Carfume

When to use it

In summer, when the cabin gets hot and stuffy and a cool scent feels better than a sweet one. Also before a long motorway run with the air con on.

Specification

Straight from us

Frozen Black is our pick for people who like the designer-style men's scents but want something less heavy for every day. Fresh, a bit masculine, and it stays crisp rather than cloying.

What it won't do

It won't mask cigarette smoke for long. Smoke sits in the headlining and the seat fabric, and that needs cleaning out before any fragrance will hold.

Frequently asked questions

Is Surge Frozen Black inspired by an aftershave?
No, Carfume Surge Frozen Black is from the Classics range, which isn't based on designer fragrances. It's Carfume's own cool citrus-and-woods scent.

Is Frozen Black a men's scent?
Carfume Surge Frozen Black leans masculine, with icy citrus and woods, but it's fresh enough that most people are happy sharing a car with it.

Does Surge Frozen Black work with the air con on?
Yes, spray Carfume Surge Frozen Black into the footwell and the air con or heater will carry it round. It fades faster with the windows open.
