Tickler Microfibre Applicator Pad

Foam pads are fine until you hit a big flat bonnet, where they grab and leave the wax in ridges. The Tickler wraps microfibre round the foam instead. It glides, it holds enough product to do a whole panel from one load, and the two faces have different pile lengths — short for sealants and thin liquids, long for paste wax and leather conditioner. A finger pocket on the back keeps it in your hand on the vertical panels.

When to use it

Applying wax, spray-on or cream sealants and leather conditioner. Load the pad, work in straight overlapping lines, flip to the clean side when it loads up. It is also very good for working conditioner into leather seat faces.

This is the pad we use for Synthetic Spray Wax when we want a proper hand-applied coat rather than a mist-and-wipe. Two pumps onto the short-pile side does a bonnet.

What it won't do

It is not a polishing pad — no cut, no correction, hand or machine. And like any microfibre it will hold grit if you drop it; if it hits the floor, wash it before it touches paint again.

Frequently asked questions

Tickler or Foamburger?
Tickler for wax, sealant and leather conditioner on paint and hide, where glide matters. Foamburger for tyre and trim dressings, where a cheap disposable foam pad is the better tool.

Which side do I use?
Short pile for thin liquids and sealants; long pile for paste wax and creams that need more product held in the pad.

Can I wash it?
Yes — machine wash with a microfibre detergent or hand wash in warm water and shampoo, then air dry. No fabric softener.
