TENZI ProDetailing Clay Spray is a ready-to-use clay bar lubricant, pH 6, that floats a clay bar across paint on a slick film so bonded contamination transfers into the clay instead of being dragged across the clear coat.

Claying without proper lubricant is just sanding with extra steps. Clay Spray gives the bar something to glide on, so industrial fallout, overspray, rail dust and tree sap residue lift into the clay rather than getting pushed across your paint. It is safe on plastic, chrome, vinyl and paint, so one bottle covers the whole car, and it will not dry out or harden the bar the way a detergent substitute does.

When to use it

Between washing and polishing, on a clean but contaminated car. If the paint feels gritty through a plastic bag after a wash, it needs claying, and it needs this.

How it compares to the rest of the TENZI range

Clay Spray is the only product in the range that cleans nothing chemically. Foam White and APC OUT dissolve dirt. PUNKT dissolves tar and glue. Clay Spray simply reduces friction so mechanical decontamination is safe — which is why it sits between them in the process rather than replacing any of them.

TENZI's own instruction is the one people skip and the one that matters: check the clay bar very often. A bar that has picked up a piece of grit turns into a scouring pad, and no amount of lubricant will save the panel. Fold it, inspect it, and bin it if you drop it.

What it won't do

It removes nothing on its own — it is a lubricant, not a cleaner. It will not replace a tar remover or an iron fallout remover, and it adds no gloss or protection.

Can I use car shampoo instead?
