A shampoo that puts protection back on rather than just taking dirt off. SWAG's Ceramic Coat Shampoo is a 2-in-1 wash-and-maintain built on a hydrophobic SiO2 formula — it cleans like a normal shampoo while depositing ceramic compounds that top up an existing coating and bring back the beading and slickness it has lost. Ultra-concentrated at 1:800, so 5ml does a five-litre bucket.

When to use it

Every third or fourth wash on a coated car, or whenever the beading starts looking lazy. It is a maintenance product for a coating that already exists, not a replacement for applying one.

Be clear about what this is: it tops up a coating, it does not create one. On uncoated paint you get a temporary hydrophobic film and not much more. On a properly coated car, using this periodically is the cheapest way to keep the coating performing between decontaminations. Note the 1:800 dilution — this bottle will last a very long time.

What it won't do

It will not apply a ceramic coating to bare paint, and it will not repair a coating that has failed. SWAG publish no pH figure for it — unlike their other shampoos, there is no neutral-pH claim on this one, so we are not making one.

How much do I use?
SWAG specify 5ml to 25ml in 5 litres of warm water, which is 1:800 to 1:400.

Do I still need a separate drying aid?
SWAG recommend following it with the Ceramic Hydro Coat to enhance the effect.

Is it worth it if my car is not ceramic coated?
Less so. On uncoated paint you get a short-lived hydrophobic film. The value is in maintaining a coating you have already paid for.

Directions

Use in a shaded area on a cool, clean surface.
Shake the bottle before use.
Add 5ml to 25ml of shampoo to 5 litres of warm water.
Mix until dissolved.
Hand wash the vehicle using the two-bucket method.
Rinse the vehicle surface.
To enhance the effect and preserve the vehicle, follow with SWAG Ceramic Hydro Coat.
