SWAG's Lady Fabric & Upholstery Cleaner is a ready-to-use textile cleaner that breaks down grease, protein and nicotine staining and dries without leaving the white tide-mark that cheap carpet cleaners are famous for. It works four ways — as a pre-spray, in an extractor tank, as a spot stain remover, or by bonneting with a microfibre.

The no-white-residue claim is the one that matters. Most fabric cleaners look brilliant while damp and then dry to a chalky patch that is worse than the stain you started with — usually because too much product went on and never came out. This one is formulated to avoid that, but the technique still matters: less product, more extraction.

What it won't do

It is not a leather cleaner and it is not an odour eliminator — it removes the staining, not necessarily the smell that came with it. Deep-set dye stains, ink and old set-in grease may not come out completely no matter what you use.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an extractor?
No. SWAG publish a bonneting method that only needs a microfibre and a brush, and a spot method for individual stains. An extractor gets more out and dries faster.

What dilution should I use in a machine?
SWAG say to adjust concentration to the task but publish no ratio — the product is sold ready to use. Start neat for stains and dilute down for large areas if you want it to go further.

Is it safe on light-coloured seats?
SWAG describe it as safe for treated surfaces and residue-free. Test on a hidden area first — that advice applies to any cleaner on any pale fabric.
