VW Golf Mk7.5 GTI Front Lip

Fits the VW Golf Mk7.5 GTI, 2017–2019 — GTI bumper. Not the Golf Mk7 GTI or the Golf Mk7 R — different mouldings, listed separately below.

The GTI bumper on the Golf Mk7.5 GTI stops short of where it should. This lip closes that gap: gloss black out of the box, fixed with screws into the underside of the bumper — no tape — and nothing is cut.

Fitting it

Clean the underside of the bumper. Dry fit the lip and check the gap at both ends before you drill anything — a bumper that has been off the car before rarely sits square. Mark the screw positions, pilot-drill the bumper plastic only, and screw the lip up from below with the self-tappers. Leave the protective film on until the last screw is in.

What it won't do

It is not aerodynamic. At this price nothing generates downforce and we are not going to pretend otherwise — this is a styling part.

It will not hide a damaged bumper. The lip sits below the bumper; a scuff above it still shows.

It is not injection-moulded ABS. Vacuum-formed plastic is lighter and more forgiving on impact, but it is thinner, and it is not a structural part.

No. It is supplied in gloss black and goes straight on the car.

Do you have to drill the bumper to fit a front lip?
Yes — small pilot holes in the plastic underside of the bumper, never in bodywork or paint. The screws are hidden behind the lip once it is on. No tape is used, so the lip can be removed and refitted cleanly.

Will it survive speed bumps?
On a standard-height Golf Mk7.5 GTI, yes. On coilovers at fully dropped it will make contact — approach at an angle.
