Not every car needs correcting. A new car, a freshly polished one, or a well-kept daily that has never seen a wash brush usually has paint that is already flat and clean — what it lacks is depth. Lack-Polish Grün is Koch-Chemie's finishing polish for exactly that paint: a very light abrasive with a lot of gloss behind it, which refines the surface, deepens the colour and leaves protection against the weather behind, in one pass by machine or by hand.

Why it works

  • Rated cut 1.0 / gloss 9.5 by Koch-Chemie — the lowest cut and highest gloss rating of any Koch-Chemie polish we stock
  • Refines and maintains new and as-new paintwork rather than fighting defects that are not there
  • Leaves a protective layer against environmental fallout, so the finish is sealed as well as polished
  • Works with a dual action polisher on a soft finishing pad, or by hand with a soft applicator
  • Suitable for all paint types, including soft and dark paints that show every hologram
  • Pair it with a Fine Cut pad on a rotary if you want a touch more bite from the same bottle

When to use it

On a car that has just been corrected with Micro Cut M3.02 and wants a final gloss step before protection, on a new car's first proper detail, or as a twice-a-year refresh on paint that is in good order. Bonnet, roof and boot lid are where the extra depth shows most. Apply thin, on a cool panel in the shade, and buff to a mirror with a clean microfibre.

Straight from us

This is the bottle we reach for when a customer says their car is fine and they just want it to look better. Less is more with it: a few pea-sized drops per panel, spread thin, and it wipes off cleanly. It is also one of the few Koch-Chemie polishes that gives a proper result by hand, which makes it a good buy for anyone without a machine.

What it won't do

It will not remove swirls, wash marring or sanding marks — at cut 1.0 it is refining, not correcting. For those, start with Fine Cut F6.01 or Micro Cut M3.02 and come back to Lack-Polish Grün for the final step.

Frequently asked questions

Is Lack-Polish Grün a polish or a wax?
Koch-Chemie Lack-Polish Grün is a finishing polish with a light protective effect. It has a very mild abrasive (cut 1.0) that refines the surface, and it leaves protection against environmental fallout behind, but it is not a standalone wax or sealant — for durable protection, follow it with your usual wax or coating.

Can I apply it by hand?
Yes. Koch-Chemie list hand application with a soft pad alongside machine application. Work a thin layer into one panel at a time and buff the residue off with a clean microfibre.

Which pad should I use on a dual action polisher?
A soft finishing pad. Koch-Chemie recommend their Polish & Sealing Pad; our Micro Cut Foam Pad is the softest in the range we stock and works well with it.

What is the difference between Lack-Polish Grün and Micro Cut M3.02?
Micro Cut M3.02 is a finishing compound (cut 3.2, gloss 9.0) that still removes holograms and P3000 sanding marks. Lack-Polish Grün (cut 1.0, gloss 9.5) removes almost nothing and is there purely to refine, deepen the gloss and leave light protection. Use Micro Cut when there is something to fix, Lack-Polish Grün when there is not.
