Bike Cleaner Mud & Dirt Remover Spray

Mud does not wash off a bike the way road film washes off a car. It dries into the chain guard, the swingarm, behind the forks and into every bolt head, and a hose alone just moves it around. Tenzi Bike Cleaner is a ready-to-use bike cleaner spray that softens dried mud in around two minutes so it rinses off without brushing, and it does it without leaving the greasy film that cheaper degreasers leave behind.

When to use it

Straight after a muddy ride, before the mud has had a day to set hard. Frame, forks, swingarm, wheels and under the mudguards on mountain bikes, motocross bikes, road motorcycles and quads. It is also a quick freshen-up for a commuter bike that has been through a wet winter week.

The trick is to use it while the bike is still wet and dirty rather than the next morning. Hose the worst off, spray the cleaner over everything that is still brown, give it its two minutes and rinse. If you are using a pressure washer keep it off the bearings and the chain — that is not the cleaner's fault, it is just what pressure washers do to bikes.

What it won't do

It will not degrease a chain or strip old chain lube — that wants a dedicated degreaser. It also will not polish or protect the frame; follow it with a wax or quick detailer if you want the paint to stay cleaner for longer.

Is Tenzi Bike Cleaner safe on carbon frames and anodised parts?
Tenzi state it is safe for metal, rubber and plastic components and contains no abrasives. Tenzi do not publish a specific carbon statement, so test on a small area first if you are unsure.

How long do I leave it on?
Tenzi publish a working time of 1 to 2 minutes. Do not let it dry on the surface, and repeat on heavy mud rather than leaving it longer.

Do I need to scrub?
No for normal mud and road dirt — the product is designed to lift contamination so it rinses off. Heavily caked-on mud may need a second application.

Can I use it on a car?
Yes, it works on any vehicle surface, but for a full car pre-wash a snow foam or pre-wash covers more ground for less money.
