APC OUT Pre-Wash Concentrate 5L

TENZI ProDetailing APC OUT is a pH 14 alkaline pre-wash power cleaner concentrate, diluted 10 to 20 per cent, that dissolves traffic film, tar and oil-based soiling from bodywork, sills, arches and tyres before contact washing.

This is the heavy artillery. At pH 14, APC OUT dissolves the road grime that a neutral foam politely declines to touch — tarry contamination, oil staining, the grey film that builds along sills, arches and lower panels through a winter of wet roads. Five litres of concentrate at a 10 to 20 per cent dilution is a very large amount of working solution, which is why this size lives in professional bays rather than domestic garages.

When to use it

How it compares to the rest of the TENZI range

APC OUT is the aggressive pre-wash. Foam White is the pH 7 neutral one, safe over wax and coatings and right for weekly use. APC IN is the interior counterpart at pH 13 — never swap them, as APC OUT will damage interior materials.

Straight from us

TENZI say it plainly and so will we: this will partly remove existing protection, especially lighter waxes. That is a feature when you are stripping a car before correction and a problem when you have just spent an afternoon waxing it. Use the weak end of the range and a short dwell on a protected car, or use Foam White instead.

What it won't do

It is not coating-safe. It must never be allowed to dry on the vehicle. It is not an interior product, and it will not remove bonded iron or adhesive.

Frequently asked questions

What dilution do I use for APC OUT?

10 to 20 per cent depending on how dirty the car is — 100ml per litre for lighter soiling, up to 200ml per litre for the heaviest contamination.

Will APC OUT strip my wax?

Yes, partly. TENZI warn it may remove existing coatings, especially lighter waxes. Use a weaker solution and a shorter dwell time to limit that.

How much working solution does 5 litres make?

At 10 to 20 per cent, between 25 and 50 litres of ready-to-use solution.

Can I use APC OUT inside the car?

No. APC IN is the interior product. APC OUT at pH 14 will damage interior materials.

How long do I leave it on?

Approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Never let it dry on the paint.
