Interior plastics are the one place silicone dressings live, and silicone is the last thing you want on a cloth that later touches paint — it is exactly what causes patchy wax and sealant coverage. Yellow marks the cloth as interior-only: dashboards, door cards, centre consoles, vents and trim.

How to use it

Spray your dressing or APC onto the cloth rather than the dashboard. Spraying the panel directly puts product into vents, screens and switch gaps, and leaves the glossy patches most people are trying to avoid.

Care

Machine wash at 40°C with a microfibre-safe detergent, no fabric softener. Wash interior cloths separately from paint cloths so silicone residue does not carry over.

Run two: one damp for cleaning, one dry for the buff. Trying to clean and level dressing with a single cloth is what leaves streaks across a dashboard.

Directions

1. Wash new cloths before first use to remove manufacturing residue and lift the pile.
2. Colour-code by job - keep one colour for paint, another for glass, another for wheels and interiors.
3. Use dry for buffing, or lightly damp for cleaning, and fold into quarters so you have eight clean faces to work through.
4. Turn to a fresh face as soon as one loads up with dirt.
5. Never reuse a cloth that has been dropped on the ground until it has been washed.

Machine wash at 30-40C with microfibre detergent. No fabric softener, no bleach, and do not wash with cotton items. Air dry or tumble dry on low.
